Synopsis

Happyville is a peaceful little town filled with residents who may be strange in their own unique ways, but who all have one thing in common: they’re perfectly happy.

Then everything changes when the forces of cosmic evil choose Happyville as the landing site for an alien invasion of Earth.

Fortunately, Happyville has its very own Alien Investigation Unit.

Unfortunately, the people running it are secretly working for the forces of evil.

Agent Mason, however, has no interest in cosmic conspiracies or intergalactic rewards. He values his job for a much simpler reason:

it gives him plenty of time to sleep.

But once Mason actually starts working, life in Happyville becomes unbearable. And adding to the growing chaos is a mysterious garbage container that suddenly appears in the middle of one of the town’s quiet streets.

Then the day finally arrives for the forces of evil to launch Operation Zodiac.

There is just one problem.

The aliens from the distant stars still haven’t been found.

Mason’s boss orders him to locate them immediately—or lose his job. To speed things up, the Chief gives Mason a list of the expected aliens: Cancer, Aquarius, Leo, and the other signs of the Zodiac.

Mason and his partner Johnny hit the streets of Happyville and start detaining anyone who looks even remotely suspicious.

And in Happyville, almost everyone looks suspicious.

One person behaves like a Cancer. Another reminds Mason of Aquarius. Someone else can’t make up their mind, just like Libra.

They even find a pair of Twins.

Clearly, the aliens are everywhere.

Soon the Alien Investigation Unit is filling up with “extraterrestrials”: an old man with a cane, his neighbor on a mobility scooter, a zookeeper, a pair of ordinary school-age twins, a supermarket employee—and even the local police officer.

Finally, Mason has exactly twelve suspects.

Twelve “aliens.”

Twelve signs of the Zodiac.

Mission accomplished.

Or so he thinks.

That is when the mastermind behind Operation Zodiac finally reveals himself.

He is an alien from Ophiuchus—the unrecognized thirteenth sign of the Zodiac.

And he has been standing beside Mason all along.

It’s Johnny.

Mason’s own partner has secretly been controlling the alien hunt from the beginning. Johnny has a mission of his own: conquer Earth and finally prove to humanity that Ophiuchus deserves its rightful place as the most important sign of the Zodiac.

Now Operation Zodiac can finally begin.

Happyville is ready to be conquered.

But before the townspeople follow Johnny’s orders, they have one little piece of unfinished business.

After everything Agent Mason has put them through, they want to deal with him first—and throw him out of Happyville.

Meanwhile, somewhere else in town...

the real aliens are still sitting patiently inside their spaceship.
